Geography and Environmental Systems (GES)
I am interested in developing a research project on the story of greenspace around the Franklin Square community. I wish to conduct a deep analysis on community agency and their interactions with and access to the environment- in this case, trees, in order to understand how communities in Baltimore establish environmental governance, or to identify what challenges have historically impeded this establishment. The observations gained from the case study of Franklin Square may provide insight into how urban tree plantings and other urban greenspace programs can be implemented equitably within these communities.
