Samantha DiNatale (Cohort 3) hosted the National Lead Poisoning Prevention event on October 22nd in the AOK Library Gallery. The event began with a showing of “Hiding in the Walls,” a documentary examining the history and legacy of lead poisoning in Baltimore, and was followed by a Q&A with Angel King Wilson and David Sebastiao, the producers of the film.
Margaret Siao (Cohort 3) attended the American Chemical Society (ACS) meeting that took place in Denver, CO, where she gave an excellent presentation titled “Influence of solution pH and dissolved organic matter on PFAS uptake by ion-exchange membrane-based passive samplers”.

Aiman Raza successfully defended her Master’s thesis, titled “Using Environmental DNA to Study Brook Trout Populations in the Headwaters of the Chesapeake Bay”, on April 4th, 2024!
Molly Finch successfully defended her Master’s thesis, titled “Planting Money. Exploring the Implications of Federal & State Environmental Justice Policy in Relation to Funding for Green Space Projects in Baltimore Neighborhoods”, on April 12th, 2024.
