They/Them
Geography and Environmental Systems (GES)
The purpose of my work is to look into the “production” of nature in and around Baltimore and how community place-making efforts can influence the makeup of the city. This work can be classified as a political ecology project that examines the role of public participation in the development of urban space with particular emphasis on the production and community sovereignty over localized environmental data. I am interested in engaging communities around Baltimore in equitable community science projects that investigate environmental health through physical metrics as well as community perspectives. I hope to do this with methods that are accessible and engaging enough to be implemented through educational programs that center joy and connection to community and place.
